It has been longer than normal since I updated this journal. A lot of things have happened that I have meant to write about, but events have conspired to keep me from doing so.
We had another successful Appleseed shoot on the farm here in October.
Right after the shoot, my long time Cattle dog companion, Nipper, died.
The small company I have worked for off-farm for decades is closing its doors. I opted to leave early, take a great deal and become totally self-employed.
I renewed the Oath I took in 1986 to uphold and defend the United States Constistution and became an Oathkeeper.
I have been invited to become a member of a new Anglican group blog...The River Thames Beach Party. The party has started and I recomend the site, which you can find here.
I have enjoyed a correspondance with somebody I greatly admire, the Reverend Franklin Sanders, who is another Anglican AND Agrarian.
Most recently, I have been suffering a large and painful Chalazion. My family Doctor, pronounced it the largest he has ever seen. I suspect I have gotten it from an excess of dust, from both poultry and mowing the orchard. I am posting the picture so anyone else who encounters this occupational hazard can see one. I also thought that those seeing it might feel sorry enough for me to remember me in your prayers.

As always we enjoy your blogs and the links to other great info. as well.
You'd said," I have been suffering a large and painful Chalazion" Being blonde*snicker* I wasn't sure what that was or if I wanted to see your picture of it,*wink* In our parts we call those a "stye"(sp?) Not sure what causes them, but may I suggest using a yarrow/ plantain formentation(Take a piece of natural cloth, cotton or wool, and drench it in a warm infused tea, wringing out until it isn't drippy. Now lay over the area of concern), over that eye at night and drink 2-3 cups of yarrow tea, adding in garlic and honey to boost your immune function as well as antibaterial properties the honey contains.
Adding your request to our prayer journal.
Have a blessed weekend and rest that eye.
Blessings from,
The Never Done Farm
Hey RL,
You have been an extremely busy man, I wish I had some of your energy.
Sorry to hear about Nipper, it is always sad to loose a four-legged companion.
Wow, that just looks painful, you are always in our prayers and hope you get some relief soon.
See Ya on the Beach,
Kevin
Best wishes Midland Agrarian--hope the eye is doing better.
Friends,
Many thanks for your prayers.
It got about twice as big as the picture, then burst of its own accord. Pain is gone. No need for cutting at the eye clinic. Thanks be to God.
Hi! Nice one,I invite you to visit my page www.rockingpinoy.blogspot.com. Only selected people I will invite, and your one of them.
Thank you for sharing, I like it worth reading.
Just stopping by to say "hello" again. As always, great blog.
I am sorry about your eye, but I am glad that the pain is gone now, and that there was no need to cut it. Has it fully recovered?
Best wishes,
Hercules
Looks like Nipper was a Queensland/Australin blue Heeler,(plentiful over here of course). They're such a gutsy breed of dog that i saw one take on a large red kangaroo when i was staying on a cattle station in the outback,50 years ago. my cousin had one -called Nuggett- who pulled my son out of dam when he was 6 .
Hercules,
Very Glad to hear from you. Sorry for the late acknowledgement.
Anonymous,
Thanks for the story. They are indeed gutsy dogs, and I miss her. For the first time in many years, I am without a good stockdog. Our current dog is more interested in leftovers and chasing rabbits.
